ITC launches devotional app

Industry major ITC is all set to launch its first mobile app, which will provide devotees with one-stop access to all matters devotional.

Besides being a ready reckoner on ways of conducting rituals, devotional songs and the right way to recite mantras, the app will also help users keep track of puja dates and even locate temples.

Launched under the aegis of ITC's incense brand Mangaldeep, the Mangaldeep Puja, Bhajan, Mantra & More app offers an extensive collection of devotional content, including information on how to perform various pujas, popular devotional songs, panchaang, and a chant counter in the form of a japamala simulator.

Multi-lingual
The multi-lingual app is being launched in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Bengali, and English, making it useful for people from across India.

Available on both Android and iOS platform, the free app provides interesting anecdotes on temples, festivals, musicians, religion and mythology. While the app has details of every Hindu festival ritual, it also contains a comprehensive guide to daily and special puja rituals.

It also has a comprehensive list of more than 30 mantras, such as Gayatri Mantra and Mahamrityunjay Mantra.

The app's devotional music section has renditions of popular bhajans by leading singers like S P Balasubramaniam, Nithyashree and Shankar Mahadevan, with the option to download songs.
Another useful section is the temple locator, which helps a user to identify and navigate to the nearest temple in any Indian city.
