Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council KSEshwarappa has said that Sagolli Rayanna brigade would function as an apolitical organisation and it would have nothing to do with the BJP.
Speaking to reporters here on Monday, Eshwarappa said that following the directions of the central leaders, he held "fruitful" discussion with state BJP president BSYeddyurappa on October 15 on appointment of office-bearers for the party. Both Eshwarappa and Yeddyurappa shared dais after a long gap at a function in the town.
Referring to the rapport with Yeddyurappa, he said, "We are like brothers. Yeddyurappa played a major role in my political growth. We would work together to strengthen the party. I would strive to make Yeddyurappa as the next chief minister of the state."
Yeddyurappa said that he would not discuss his differences with Eshwarappa in public. "The issue should be raised only in the party forum," he said. He said that he had met former minister Srinivas Prasad twice and would welcome him to BJP if the latter decides to join the party.
