Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party supremo Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday faced intense protests at various quarters as he continued his three-day Gujarat visit.

Kejriwal, who landed in Ahmedabad on Friday night amidst slogan shouting, continued to encounter protests at Mehsana, Unjha and Ahmedabad on Saturday with several placards and posters calling him a "Pakistani hero" and some of them comparing him with the Pakistan-backed terrorist mascots like Hafeez Sayeed.

Scores of people who thronged the venues of Kejriwal's visit asked him to leave Gujarat.
A group of 70-80 youths waved black flags at Kejriwal at Unjha where the AAP leader had offered worship at Umiya Mata, an important deity of the Patels.

Slogans such as 'Desh Ka Gaddar' (traitor) and 'Pakistan Ratn Wapas Jao' (go back you gem of Pakistan) reverberated the venue. Protesters also tried to stop Kejriwal from entering the temple.

The Delhi chief minister faced similar protests in Ahmedabad over his speeches seeking proof of the surgical strikes in response to the Uri attacks.

"Amit Shah is behind all these protests," Kejriwal later told reporters. "The BJP is perturbed and it is their policy to crush any dissent."

Kejriwal also alleged that the BJP has a non-bailable warrant against AAP's Gujarat in-charge Gulab Singh. "He would most probably be arrested before our Surat rally on Sunday," he said.

His visit seems to be an attempt to win over the Patels, who until last year remained the strongest support base for the saffron party, helping it retain power for over two decades. The Delhi chief minister's visit to Mehsana and Ahmedabad also included meetings with families of Patel youths killed during police firing last year when the quota stir got violent.
