IT major Infosys has reported an year-on-year increase of 6.1% in the net profit for the quarter ended September 30 at Rs 3,606 crore, as against Rs 3,398 crore for the corresponding quarter last year.
The company also revised its guidance for the second time in the current fiscal.
The revenues of the company was Rs 17,310 crore for the quarter, compared with
Rs 15,635 for the corresponding quarter last year, showing an year-on-year increase of 10.7%. The operating profit stood at Rs 4,309 crore for the quarter, as against Rs 3,993 crore in the second quarter of the last fiscal, a year-on-year growth of 7.9%.
Earnings per share (EPS) was Rs 15.77 for the said quarter with a quarter-on-quarter growth of 6.1%, as against Rs 14.87 in the corresponding quarter last year.
The major chunk of the company's revenues came from business IT services segment with a 62.8% contribution, followed by consulting, packaging implementation and others segment (32.1%), and products, platforms and others segment (5.1%).
On the geographical front, North America contributed 61.5% of the revenues, followed by Europe (22.5%) and India (3.4%). Revising its guidance levels for the second time, the company's revenue outlook (consolidated) for the fiscal ending March 31, 2017, under International Financial Reporting Standards is expected to grow 8.0% - 9.0% in constant currency.
