The drive was slowed down and put off for some time in view of festival seasons, but now it will start in a big way, BBMP officials said. BBMP Chief Engineer Siddegowda said the Palike had planned to start the drive from Thursday, but due to certain reasons it was put on hold.
"There are many buildings to be demolished. Right now, we are not equipped with enough resources to start it from Thursday. Resource mobilisation may take time for which we decided to start it from Monday," Siddegowda said.
A meeting was convened on Wednesday evening regarding clearing encroachment of SWD, where inadequacy to carry out the drive was discussed. Zonal commissioners too expressed their inability in view of garbage pile-up post festival.
