Health and Family Welfare Minister KRRamesh Kumar on Thursday said that the government is planning to cover more orthopaedic procedures under the State government's health schemes.
During his visit to Sanjay Gandhi Institute of Trauma and Orthopedic Care, to attend the governing council meet, the minister also interacted with some patients.
The patients told the minister that only Yeshasvini scheme beneficiaries were covered for free treatment for several procedures in the hospital.
Patients complained that even though they have BPL cards they were not able to avail free treatment.
When contacted, Shalini Rajneesh, principal secretary, Health and Family Welfare, said that the government is planning to expand the whole gamut of services to those covered under Rajiv Arogya Bhagya and Vajpayee Arogyashree schemes.
