Continuing their winning streak, Mysuru Warriors finished their league stage in clinical fashion, defeating Namma Shivamogga by 33 runs via VJD method and in the process knocking the Stuart Binny-led side out of the Karbonn Karnataka Premier League tournament.

In a rain-hit tie at the KSCA Stadium here at Rajnagar, Shivamogga had to win to stay in contention for a semifinal berth. Coming into the tie, Shivamogga had six points from as many games and a victory against the Warriors would have brought net-run rate into equation. However, that was not to be. In a rather one-sided match, the Warriors first dominated completely in their bowling and then put on a strong show with the bat.

Put into bat first, Shivamogga could only muster 125 for seven on board in their stipulated 20 overs.

Despite the 42-run first-wicket partnership between Pradeep Gangadhar (25) and Nikin Jose (16), Shivamogga could not post a strong total as rest of their batsmen fell at regular intervals. Cameos from Abrar Kazi (23) and David Mathias (26) helped Shivamogga to cross the 120-run mark.

J Suchith (2/15) and K Gowtham (2/12) shared four wickets between them.
In response, Mysuru lost opener Arjun Hoysala (1) in the first over but the in-form Rajoo Bhatkal once again proved his mettle with a well compiled 83 off 68 balls.

With 10 fours and two sixes, Bhatkal did well to both anchor and accelerate the Warriors' innings.

Mysuru, with the loss of two wickets, drew level with Shivamogga's total of 125 in the 17th over when rain halted play. With the weather not permitting anymore play, Mysuru were declared winners by the VJD method. The par score as per the VJD method was 92 at that stage.

The Warriors, with an all-win record, finished on top of the table with 14 points. Shivamogga, with three wins and four losses, ended sixth with six points.

Tigers win

Meanwhile, Hubli Tigers recorded an 85-run win over Rockstars in a tie that was restricted to 18 overs-a-side due to persistent downpour.

The Tigers needed to win this match to climb to the second position on the table and they did so emphatically.

Batting first, Tigers slammed 184/7, with Mohammed Taha scoring 59 off 36 balls, including eight fours and two massive sixes. Kranthi Kumar also joined the party, with 33 off 12 balls. His late cameo included three fours and two sixes.

SL Akshay (3/37) and Raju Gowda (2/26) shared five wickets between them for Rockstars.
In reply, Rockstars could only manage to score 99 for the loss of five wickets, with Vihaan Rajeev and RK Raahul scoring 31 and 37 runs respectively.

Tigers finished with 10 points while the Rockstars failed to open their points tally.

Brief scores: Namma Shivamogga 125/7 in 20 overs (Pradeep Gangadhar 25, David Mathias 26; Jagadisha Suchith 2-15, K Gowtham, 2-12) lt to Mysuru Warriors: 125/2 in 16.3 overs (Rajoo Bhatkal 83 n.o.) via VJD method.

Hubli Tigers: 184/7 in 18 overs (Md Taha 59, Kranthi Kumar 33 n.o., Kunal Kapoor 27, Dikshanshu Negi 25; SL Akshay 3-37, Raju Gowda 2-26) bt Rockstars: 99/5 in 18 overs (Vihaan Rajeev 31, RK Raahul 37).
