Barely a few days after Tamil cinema industry lost noted lyricist Panchu Arunachalam, National award winning song writer Na Muthukumar died here on Sunday due to jaundice.
He was 41 and is survived by wife, son and a daughter. Born at Kancheepuram district, Muthukumar had won two National awards for his Tamil songs "Ananda Yazhai Meetukiral" in "Thanga Meengal" and "Azhage Azhage" in "Saivam".
Muthukumar came to the cinema industry to become a film director. However, his writing skills in Tamil launguage took him to the top after penning many hit songs such as "kanpesum Varthai" and "Veyilodu Vilayadi". He has written more than a thousand songs.
