Treat yourself this weekend to a stellar Bharatanatyam performance, listen to saxophone renditions or simply get your hands dirty by planting saplings for the future.
All these programmes will be held, starting from Friday, as a part of Bengaluru International Arts Festival (BIAF). The festival that is now stepping into the third week will see performances by Bharatanatyam exponent Rama Vaidyanathan (Friday), dancer Madhu Natraj (Saturday), saxophonist Kadri Gopalnath (Sunday) and party, among others.
The venues for the weekend programmes are Chowdiah Memorial Hall and Sukrushi Organic farm at Marasarahalli, Nelamangala. "We have been hosting an array of activities every weekend, starting from Friday to Sunday from September 9. This is the ninth edition of BIAF 2016, whose theme this time is 'Celebration of Harmony through Arts'.
The response has been overwhelming so far," said Director of BIAF, Veena Murthy Vijay. She added that next year they are planning to celebrate the festival in a big way as the BIAF enters its tenth year.
This year's festival will end with the afforestation programme that will take place at Sukrushi Organic Farm, Nelamangala starting at 11 am and a performance by Kadri Gopalnath and party at Chowdiah Hall at 6.30 pm.
