The National Highway 7 (Ballari Road) will be reduced to two lanes, due to the construction of a foot overbridge, which will commence on Thursday, at Bharathinagar Cross near Indian Air Force, Yelahanka.
"A central pillar on the median and more pillars to support it, will be erected on both sides of the road," a senior police officer said.
He added that the overbridge is being constructed to help pedestrians and schoolchildren cross the road.
Navayuga, which is entrusted with the work, is asked to complete the work by September 29 and make sure that the traffic movement is not hindered.
