To help women and children in their fight against cancer and end the stigma associated with losing hair due to chemotherapy, the second edition of "Bald and Beautiful" will be held in the city on Sunday.
Organised by VS - The Austin Foundation, an organisation dedicated to support the fight against cancer, the event will witness men and women donate their hair by tonsuring, to express their solidarity with the cause.
Foundation director Austin Prakash said: "We have been holding these events across the globe from 2000. This is the second edition taking place in the country. The most incredible thing is the number of people willing to give their time and effort to support us. People have come forward to contribute anything - whether it's toys for children or the act of shaving their head."
He said at least 230 men and women shaved their heads in 2015 and this time, more number of people are expected to participate.
The Foundation plans to hold the coming editions in Dubai and Chennai soon. As many as 50 people have registered to take part in the programme in Bengaluru. The event will take place at The Collection, UB City, from noon.
