Spoorthi, Rakshit top

Spoorthi MV followed up her triumph in the Junior girls' category on Saturday with the Youth girls' title in the 7th Belgaum Table Tennis Academy and Union Gymkhana Academy's State-ranking table tennis tournament here at the Gymkhana Club on Sunday.

In a see-saw battle where Samyuktha led three games to one, Spoorthi rallied in fine fashion to claim the final three games to emerge a 8-11, 11-3, 7-11, 11-8, 11-8, 11-2 winner .

Kaustubh Kulkarni, on the other hand, had to return disappointed for the second day in succession. Having lost the Junior boys' final in a seven-game thriller on Saturday to Sanketh G S, Kausthubh squandered a 2-1 lead to go down 8-11, 11-3, 7-11, 11-8, 11-8, 11-2 to Rakshit B in the Youth boys' title clash.
