BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa on Wednesday urged Chief justice of India T S Thakur to constitute an expert committee to examine the water level in the Cauvery river basin reservoirs.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a state BJP farmers' wing meeting, he said the Tamil Nadu government's demand for release of 50 tmcft of Cauvery river water is unjustified. The BJP will stand by the Karnataka government in its stand to not release water to the neighbouring state, he added.
